Lois Teicher has been working as a sculptor for the past 27 years.
She has shown work in over 50 exhibitions including a one-person exhibit at the Detroit Institute of Arts and the Dennos Museum Center in Traverse City and her work is included in the permanent collections of both museums. Teicher has received 11 major grants including twice wining the Pollock-Krasner and the Arts & Patrons award from the Arts Foundation of Michigan. In addition, in 2008 she is having a Retrospective at the Saginaw Art Museum in Saginaw, Michigan that will showcase 29 years of her work. Teicher's focus has been creating site specific work for public and private spaces. To date she has been commissioned and has completed 12 public and private sculptures. She has been commissioned to create seating for the Downtown Detroit YMCA and a site specific sculpture for the Grand Blanc Bus Terminal.
