Admissions Counselor- Remote (3 Positions Available)

 

STATUS: Full-Time, Permanent, 12-month position
DIVISION: Enrollment and Student Services – Undergraduate Admissions
REPORTS TO: Vice President for Enrollment and Student Services
SUPERVISES: N/A
FLSA STATUS: Exempt

 

POSITION DESCRIPTION

Responsible for managing the relationship between CCS and prospective students by helping them make an informed college choice.  The position is the primary point of contact between the institution and potential students and is responsible for meeting individual and overall new student enrollment goals. 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Manage an assigned geographic recruiting territory including the following states:

       Position 1 – Western US Regional Counselor

Arkansas, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, North Dakota, Nebraska, New Mexico, Nevada, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming             

       Position 2 – Midwest US Regional Counselor

Arkansas, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Minnesota, Missouri, Tennessee, Wisconsin

       Position 3Southern US Regional Counselor

Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina

  • Plan and manage the implementation of personal follow-up strategies with inquiries, applicants, and high school art teachers;
  • Plan and execute travel to make high school presentations, counseling office visits and attend other events;
  • Research new schools and college fair opportunities;
  • Conduct portfolio critiques;
  • Attend appropriate college day/night programs and National Portfolio Days;
  • Counsel prospective graduate students in regard to academic programs, admissions requirements, housing, scholarships, financial aid procedures, and student life at CCS;
  • Work with the Admissions Events Manager to organize, plan and host offsite recruiting events;
  • Be available to work some evenings and weekends for virtual Admissions events;
  • Use effective written correspondence and telephone/text communication procedures;
  • Visits to campus for training, annual retreat and other special activities;
  • Perform additional duties as required.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in art or design or related area preferred;
  • Two or more years of college admissions experience;
  • Proficiency with the Google Suite, MS Office, including Word, Excel, and Power Point required;
  • Knowledge of Target X or similar CRM is highly desired;
  • Possess strong interpersonal skills using a high level of tact, empathy and diplomacy;
  • Exhibit a level of comfort and confidence with public speaking;
  • Good communication and customer service skills;
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage and prioritize work load according to recruiting cycle;
  • Ability to represent the college in a professional manner; 
  • Ability to travel and work a varied schedule with flexible hours, including weekends;
  • Highly motivated with a positive attitude, strong commitment to higher education, customer service and student focus; 
  • Home office space with reliable internet and phone access;
  • Ideal home office location for each position-
    • Position 1 – Western Regional Counselor – Colorado or Texas
    • Position 2 – Midwest Regional Counselor – Illinois
    • Position 3 – Southern Regional Counselor – Florida

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This is a remote position and employees must have a home office space with reliable internet and phone access.  Employees are expected to maintain their workspace in a safe manner, free from safety hazards.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to maintain a stationary position, use a computer and other office equipment, and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and virtually.  Frequent interaction with others, including staff, faculty, students and third parties is required.  The employee may occasionally be required to move files or other objects weighing up to 25 pounds, including from low and high places.  The ability to move around within the office and between buildings on campus, attend off-site meetings and events, and travel between Ford Campus site to Taubman Center site are required.  CCS will make reasonable accommodations that will allow individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
