Foundation – 3D Techniques Adjunct Faculty

The College for Creative Studies (CCS) invites applications for an adjunct position in the Foundation department with experience in 3D Techniques. This position reports to the Chair of the Foundation department within the Undergraduate Studies Division. The adjunct member in Foundation is responsible for teaching a studio class that meets twice a week. Classes are scheduled based on availability and may vary each semester.

Job Description:
This position requires strengths in mentoring and motivation of students to achieve their full potential in accomplishing work that meets college level standards as established by the department. The Course Description and Overview are outlined below:

I. Course Description
This course will familiarize the student with basic construction and fabrication techniques of the wood and metal shops at CCS. Through the completion of a series of small projects, students will be introduced to the majority of tools and machines within the shops. Students will also learn a wide variety of methods and techniques needed to safely complete future projects. Safety is the MOST essential function of this course.

II. Detailed Description
3D Techniques trains students in proper use of tools and in wood/metal shop safety. Students apply skills to projects in wood and metal, leading to certification required for open access to CCS shops during enrollment at the college.

Job Requirements:
Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree and have progress toward or completion of a Master’s degree. Priority is given to candidates with college level teaching experience in 3D Techniques who are also dedicated to establishing themselves as an active part of the art community.
