Foundation – Digital Fundamentals Adjunct Faculty
The College for Creative Studies (CCS) invites applications for a Digital Fundamentals adjunct position in the Foundation department. This position reports to the Chair of the Foundation department within the Undergraduate Studies Division. The adjunct member in Foundation is responsible for teaching a hybrid class that meets once a week and also offers an online component. Classes are scheduled based on availability and may vary each semester.
JOB DESCRIPTION: This position requires strengths in mentoring and motivation of students to achieve their full potential in accomplishing work that meets college level standards as established by the department. The Course Description is outlined below:
I. Course Catalog Description
Students explore the computer as a tool in support of artist/designer’s practice, including software required for the college information system and creative digital imagery in both pixel and vector based software. Students work with popular software packages, appropriate for design, to gain an understanding of the tools used to create and manipulate digital imagery and to develop a broad understanding of how and why the computer is so prominent in image making today.
JOB REQUIREMENTS: Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, MFA preferred. Priority is given to candidates with college level teaching experience who are also dedicated to establishing themselves as an active part of the art community. Comprehensive knowledge of the Adobe Creative suite, with an emphasis on Photoshop and Illustrator, and a functional knowledge of the broad range of 2D and 3D digital creative tools is highly desirable.
