POSITION DESCRIPTION

The College for Creative Studies (CCS) invites applications for a Drawing adjunct position in the Foundation department. This position reports to the Chair of the Foundation department within the Undergraduate Studies Division. Classes are scheduled based on availability and may vary each semester.

 

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS 

This position requires strengths in mentoring and motivation of students to achieve their full potential in accomplishing work that meets college-level standards as established by the department. The candidate must be able to effectively teach drawing fundamentals with a focus on technical skills needed to draw from observation and imagination including an in-depth study of perspective and figure drawing. Formal composition and design principles as well as craftsmanship and presentation techniques will be emphasized. Most classes will require the adjunct to teach on-site.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE 

Successful candidates must possess a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, an MFA is preferred. Priority is given to candidates with college level teaching experience in Drawing I and/or Drawing II who are also dedicated to establishing themselves as an active part of the art community.
