POSITION DESCRIPTION

The College for Creative Studies is seeking a highly organized and motivated individual to join the Office of Partnerships team as a Marketing and Events Support Assistant. In this position, you will play a critical role in supporting the marketing and events efforts of the Office of Partnerships. This position will report directly to the Associate Director of Strategic Partnerships and Programs.


POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  •  Supporting the development and implementation of marketing plans for the Office of Partnerships to engage internal and external stakeholders
  • Assisting with the creation of marketing materials, including flyers, posters, and email campaigns for internal and external stakeholders
  • Helping to manage the Office of Partnerships’ social media accounts and various websites
  • Increasing internal student engagement and external partner engagement online and in-person
  • Coordinating logistics for virtual and in-person events, including but not limited to reserving venues, ordering supplies and catering (as needed), managing registration, in person point of contact, etc.
  • Providing on-site support for events, including setting up and breaking down of event spaces
  • Maintaining accurate records and databases for marketing and event activities The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work independently and in a team environment. Familiarity with marketing and event planning is a plus, but not required. This is a full-time position with competitive pay and benefits.

 

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of two years of event planning and/or marketing experience.
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written, to effectively communicate with a diverse population of students, faculty, staff and employers.
  •  Proven track record of organizational and time management skills, including the ability to manage multiple projects, data, and deadlines, while producing superior results.
  • Ability to utilize various technology platforms and systems in pursuit of goals and objectives is required, including customer relationship management (CRM) systems, project management tools, etc.
  •  Outstanding interpersonal skills with a high level of tact, empathy, and diplomacy.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workplace.
  • Adobe Photoshop and InDesign knowledge are a plus.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This job operates in a professional office and college campus environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to maintain a stationary position, use a computer and other office equipment, and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and virtually. Frequent interaction with others, including staff, faculty, students and third parties is required. The employee may occasionally be required to move files or other objects weighing up to 25 pounds, including from low and high places. The ability to move around within the office and between buildings on campus, attend off-site meetings and events, and travel between Ford Campus site to the Taubman Center site are required.
