DIVISION: Precollege and Continuing Studies
REPORTS TO: Director of Precollege and Continuing Studies
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
Precollege and Continuing Studies department is looking for talented individuals to teach credit and non-credit courses part-time to youth, teens, and adults. Courses are offered on evenings and weekends during the academic school year and during the day during summers. Instructors are encouraged to develop new courses based on their interests and skill sets.
POSITION ACCOUNTABILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Teach and successfully deliver continuing education course(s);
- Prepare syllabus and supply lists for the review of the Director and/or Operations Manager of Precollege and Continuing Studies;
- Complete all teaching and other training workshops as required by the Precollege and Continuing Studies;
- Deal promptly with all administrative responsibilities attached to this work.
- Follow code of conduct and guidelines provided by the Precollege and Continuing Studies department;
- Creating assessments and submitting grades to the Academic and Advising and Records Office.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
- BFA with specialty relative to the course being taught is normally required for non-credit courses, MFA preferred; others with relevant experience also considered;
- Teaching experience is preferred;
- Successful candidates must be committed to working with diverse student and community populations.
- Demonstrated computer literacy

This job operates in a professional office and college campus environment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. The employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions.
The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to maintain a stationary position, use a computer and other office equipment, and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and virtually. Frequent interaction with others, including staff, faculty, students and third parties is required. The employee may occasionally be required to move files or other objects weighing up to 25 pounds, including from low and high places. The ability to move around within the office and between buildings on campus, attend off-site meetings and events, and travel between Ford Campus site to Taubman Center site are required. CCS will make reasonable accommodations that will allow individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
