Precollege and Continuing Studies Instructor

Graphic Novel, Animation, Game Design, Video Production Instructors

The College for Creative Studies (CCS) invites applications for Precollege and Continuing Studies Instructors for Fall 2018, Winter 2019 and Summer 2019 semesters. This part-time position reports to the Director of Precollege and Continuing Studies within the Enrollment and Student Services division.

RESPONSIBILITIES: Teach Precollege and Continuing Studies non-credit courses to Youth (ages 8-13), Teens (13-18), and/or Adults (ages 16 and over) in Detroit and/or Plymouth, MI.

INSTRUCTORS NEEDED: Instructors are needed to teach Graphic Novel Illustration, Game Design, Z-Brush, Unreal Engine, Adobe Animate, Adobe Premiere, and/or Green Screen Digital Filmmaking. Instructors are also encouraged to create new classes utilizing their unique talents and skill sets.

QUALIFICATIONS: Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. College-level teaching experience is highly desirable. The successful candidate should also maintain an active professional practice in his or her area of specialty in art or design. The candidate’s personal work and student work should demonstrate a high level of proficiency in their area of expertise.

CCS has state-of-the art facilities to support the complete range of creative production, from traditional art forms such as painting, glassblowing, foundry, and printmaking to the most contemporary systems, including the latest digital imaging technology and extensive rapid prototyping output tools.
