Transportation Design
Raphael Zammit Chair of MA/MFA Transportation Design, Associate Professor
Raphael Zammit came to CCS from the University of Cincinnati where he was the lead faculty for transportation design. He also served as the Coordinator of the Industrial Design Program from 2011 to 2014. Prior to teaching, his career in automotive design spanned eight studios in four countries across Europe, Asia, and North America - working in the areas of advanced concept vehicles, production vehicles, and strategic branding. Beginning in Stuttgart, Germany Zammit designed for Porsche A.G. and taught Transportation Design at AHG Pforzheim. He then worked in Barcelona, Spain for Volkswagen/Audi's advanced concept studio before returning to the US where he joined Hyundai's California studio, with stints in Hyundai's South Korean global headquarters. He then joined General Motors' advanced concept studio in North Hollywood, CA, from which he returned to Detroit, Michigan where he contributed to the revival of the Chevrolet Camaro and the creation of the Global Brand Studio.
