Youth Courses (Ages 8 — 13)

Young minds are full of curiosity and the need to learn. Each of our young artist classes is designed to fulfill those desires and teach basic art and design skills. We offer a variety of studio and digital-based courses for several age groups to provide a supportive learning environment for all.

January: Digital Cartooning

Learn to draw digitally with a Wacom tablet and pen while you create a cartoon character.

Design the next Ferrari or Bugatti.   Learn basic drawing techniques specific to automotive design such as perspective, proportion and accuracy of shape.

ANIMATION

Tap into your imagination and create a new character. Is it human? Is it a monster? Does it walk on four legs? Learn to draw your character digitally with a Wacom tablet and pen. Bring your character to life by drawing an animation sequence. No prior animation skills are required.

BE A YOUTUBE STAR!

Learn how to become a YouTuber.  Students will create a concept for a YouTube show while learning the basics of shooting video, utilizing green screen and editing. Class time will be spent watching and analyzing kid friendly YouTube channels.

COMPUTER ANIMATION

Learn the basic skills needed to turn drawings into living motion and narrative film. Students will learn valuable computer skills as they create a short animation based on a simple action.

FASHION DESIGN AND SEWING

Fashion design students will learn the foundation for proper construction of a garment including basic hand sewing techniques and proper use of a sewing machine. Students should bring their own sewing machine. Additional materials and notions will need to be purchased to bring your design to life.
