Fine Arts Program Learning Outcomes (PLO)
Upon graduation, students in the BFA Fine Arts program will be able to:
- Apply a pluralistic approach to art making, a skillful use of traditional and new materials, and utilize historical and innovative techniques and processes.
- Communicate ideas and content through their artwork and demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between materials, processes, and content.
- Employ contemporary art theory, criticism, and art history to position and articulate their work historically and theoretically within contemporary culture.
- Construct insightful and relevant critiques of their artwork and the artwork of others.
- Build a comprehensive portfolio of artwork that represents their knowledge and abilities and that gives them access to grants, fellowships, residencies, and exhibition venues.
- Pursue careers and advanced degrees in the Fine Arts as well as apply their knowledge to many related fields and occupations.
- Demonstrate leadership through productive contributions to their community and in ethical professional practices.
