Art Practice Program Learning Outcomes (PLO)

Upon graduation students in the BFA Art Practice Department will be able to:

  1.  Apply a pluralistic approach to art making, through skillful use of traditional and new materials, techniques and processes.
  2. Demonstrate the ability to problem-solve and research as means to establish coherent relations between materials, processes, and content.
  3. Demonstrate the use of critical thinking as a means to verbal, written and visual expression.
  4. Utilize the expertise of visual language to analyze and critique the work of others.
  5. Demonstrate an understanding of their role as an artist through the ability to contextualize individual work within contemporary art and culture. 
  6. Articulate an understanding of the relationship among culture, history and visual arts.
