Vision Statement
The Studio Art & Craft department at CCS educates students to the highest level of accomplishment in contemporary Art and Craft disciplines. We aim to be an internationally recognized program that is unique in our combination of studio areas and in our capacity to be a thriving community of working artists and designers that think, make and critically engage in broader art, political and social communities.
Mission Statement
The Purpose of the Bachelor of Fine Arts in Studio Art & Craft is to offer a dynamic multi- disciplinary art and design program that uniquely combines traditional making with contemporary tools and materials and progressive technologies. We are committed to mentoring and training creative professionals who are prepared to meet and exceed the demands facing contemporary artists and designers across varied career pathways, and prepare them to broadly apply creativity and critical thinking outside of their discipline. We teach historical and theoretical knowledge, contemporary practices, technical expertise in materials and processes, and instill a rigorous commitment to content development, ethical design practices, and professional career skills necessary to succeed as independent artists and designers.
