Shepard Fairey Selects CCS Professor to Help With New Milwaukee Mural
Internationally acclaimed artist Shepard Fairey and his Obey Giant team will begin painting a seventy-four hundred square foot mural entitled “Voting Rights Are Human Rights,” on the north side of the Colby Abbot building in downtown Milwaukee this week and he's hand-selected CCS Assistant Professor and Section Chair of Printmaking, Tyanna Buie, as a collaborating artist.

Brenda Goodman is now experiencing a new level of success. Her career began in the early 1960s in her native Detroit, where she was one of the few women artists in the legendary Cass Corridor movement and a Fine Arts student at the College for Creative Studies.

"The Girl with the D Earring," as CCS Fine Arts alumna Sydney G. James titles the nine-story work finished Monday, is a take on Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer’s best-known canvas – "Girl with a Pearl Earring," created in 1665.
Alumna's Social Justice Focused Solo Exhibition Set to Open at Galerie Camille
Galerie Camille is pleased to announce the solo exhibition opening of “Blackbird & Paloma Negra: The Mothers” by Detroit visual artist, educator and CCS alumna, Sabrina Nelson. Sabrina’s latest body of work is inspired by Nina Simone’s song Blackbird and her charge to artists “it is your duty to reflect the times”.
