CCS Alumna turns "Girl with a Pearl Earring" into "The Girl with the D Earring"
"The Girl with the D Earring," as CCS Fine Arts alumna Sydney G. James titles the nine-story work finished Monday, is a take on Dutch painter Johannes Vermeer’s best-known canvas – "Girl with a Pearl Earring," created in 1665.
Alumna's Social Justice Focused Solo Exhibition Set to Open at Galerie Camille
Galerie Camille is pleased to announce the solo exhibition opening of “Blackbird & Paloma Negra: The Mothers” by Detroit visual artist, educator and CCS alumna, Sabrina Nelson. Sabrina’s latest body of work is inspired by Nina Simone’s song Blackbird and her charge to artists “it is your duty to reflect the times”. This experience opens to the public, by appointment on September 4th and runs through October 3rd.
Fellowship.art Announces CCS Section Head of Printmaking a Part of 2020 Cohort
Fellowship.art has announced its 2020 Cohort, which includes Tyanna Buie, CCS Assistant Professor and Section Head of Printmaking. The Milwaukee-based artist accelerator program will provide selected visual artists
$15,000 and 12 weeks of support.
