Fine Arts Program Learning Outcomes (PLO)

Upon graduation, students in the BFA Fine Arts program will be able to:

  1. Apply a pluralistic approach to art making, a skillful use of traditional and new materials, and utilize historical and innovative techniques and
  2. Communicate ideas and content through their artwork and demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between materials, processes, and
  3. Employ contemporary art theory, criticism, and art history to position and articulate their work historically and theoretically within contemporary
  4. Construct insightful and relevant critiques of their artwork and the artwork of
  5. Build a comprehensive portfolio of artwork that represents their knowledge and abilities and that gives them access to grants, fellowships, residencies, and exhibition
  6. Pursue careers and advanced degrees in the Fine Arts as well as apply their knowledge to many related fields and
  7. Demonstrate leadership through productive contributions to their community and in ethical professional
