Requirements for Art Education Teacher Certification

Prospective students who have already earned a bachelor’s degree may apply following the post-graduate admission requirements below.

CCS BFA (Bachelor of Fine Arts) Degree Alumni Applicants

Required

Not required based on proven experience and ability as a CCS BFA student.

Additional Information

  • Letters of Recommendation – Provide two (2) recommendation letters. Recommenders should detail the applicants experience with or aptitude for teaching, experiences in art and/or design experience and mentorship or skills that would directly prepare them for a teaching position. They should also detail how they have gained their interactions with the applicant and will include details about the population/audience the applicant has worked with previously.

  • Letters of Recommendation – Provide two (2) recommendation letters. Eligibility

Individuals who have or will complete an undergraduate Bachelor of Fine Arts or other bachelor’s degree or higher by the below dates are eligible to apply for admissions to our Post-Degree Teaching Certificate program beginning in the 2024 Academic Year:

August 2024: Fall Semester 2024

December 2025: Winter Semester 2025

Students who have not yet earned a bachelor’s degree should apply following the Undergraduate admission requirements.
Students interested in a Master of Arts in Art Education should apply following the Graduate admission requirements.
