College for Creative Studies: Photography
Backpacks and bat bags. Beanies and skullcaps. Hoodies and tees. As a visual media specialist for Foot Locker, Inc., in Wausau, Wisconsin — more than 500 miles from her hometown in metro Detroit — Paige Campbell has shot it all.
In August 2018, Campbell was at a community center in Beverly Hills, California, photographing NBA star Demar DeRozan of the San Antonio Spurs. In September, she was at a YMCA in Charlotte, North Carolina, photographing NBA rookie Miles Bridges of the Charlotte Hornets. And today, her colleagues are photographing WNBA players in DC, Seattle and Phoenix.
The photos, which are used by Foot Locker and its banner companies Eastbay, Champs Sports and Six:02, feed online retail stores, web and print ad campaigns, in-store displays and social media channels.
Campbell, who has been with Foot Locker for four months, says she had the job lined up well before graduation.
“CCS’s connections, and the information we learned, was so valuable,” she says. “I felt really comfortable coming to the studio and being able to handle projects without having to ask for help.”
