In celebration of the Cinematic Couture exhibition, over 40 junior and senior level Illustration students at CCS participated in a fashion illustration project, sponsored by the Somerset Collection. The Cinematic Couture exhibition features more than 40 original period costumes worn by stars such as Kate Winslet, Madonna, Nicole Kidman, Renee Zellweger and Johnny Depp and is on display at the Somerset Collection through Sunday, October 7. Led by Illustration department faculty members Gil Ashby, chair, and Don Kilpatrick, assistant professor, the students visited the Cinematic Couture exhibition several times to sketch the costumes of London-based costume house COSPROP. The completed fashion illustrations were unveiled at an event on Sunday, September 23 at the Somerset Collection and will remain on display throughout the Cinematic Couture exhibition. Following the exhibition, the student sketches will be judged by a panel with scholarship awards of $2,500, $1,500 and $1,000 given to the winners.
