The College for Creative Studies is proud to announce two new Graduate Programs: A Master of Fine Arts in Color and Materials Design and a Master of Fine Arts in Interaction Design, which are slated to launch in fall 2014.

Color and Materials Design is the first masters program of its kind in the United States. It addresses both the theoretical and practical knowledge of color, new materials, finishes and processes to develop a practitioner’s expertise in their application to various design solutions.

Interaction Design is a unique program relevant to today’s challenging times in the specific way the College integrates proven business practices, research methods and creative skills to prepare students to succeed. Interaction Design emphasizes the human context of design – the study of how people use, need and respond to technology in their daily lives – through ethnographic research, study of human behavior and cognition as well as the application of specific tools and techniques to uncover ‘unmet’ opportunities.

Both programs were developed around the increasing demands of industry for highly specified design related training. These new programs will give CCS graduates a distinct advantage, with no other graduate programs in the nation preparing students in this manner.

These new graduate programs reflect CCS’s ongoing commitment to provide students with the skills necessary to become leaders in the world of art and design.
