PayScale has released its College ROI Report for Art Schools, and the College for Creative Studies ranks in the Top Ten for return on investment among art and design schools nationally and number one in the Midwest.
This ranking speaks to the College’s efforts to ensure that students have access to post-graduate employment. CCS graduates secure jobs at the world’s top companies and are routinely sought after for their expertise and problem-solving skills by leaders across industries, from automotive — alumni have leadership roles in most of the world’s auto and transportation companies and suppliers — to product design, animation, communication design, advertising and beyond.
In 2016, through the organization of Career Services, CCS welcomed 227 companies to campus for individual company visits, sponsored research projects with corporate partners and recruiting and annual professional development events such as Career Days. These visits offer students the opportunity to meet with industry professionals, receive portfolio reviews, practice their interviewing skills and potentially receive an internship or job opportunity.
All of the College’s majors emphasize both creativity and business acumen. And alumni regularly seek out CCS graduates, creating a powerful employment pipeline. Other success factors include metropolitan Detroit’s status as one of the top five areas in the country for industrial designers.
PayScale’s rankings result from the largest real-time salary survey in the world, using data-driven technology to maintain a database of more than 54 million salary profiles. Rankings accounted for each school’s 20-year net ROI, total four-year cost, graduation rate, typical years to graduate and average loan amount.
Based on a survey of its alumni, the College currently maintains a 98 percent post-graduate employment rate overall.
