CCS to Participate in and Host MLK Day Celebrations and National Day of Racial Healing

In celebration of this year's Martin Luther King Day and the official National Day of Racial Healing, CCS is hosting and partaking in a number of events on and around campus. We are excited to be offering many ways for students, staff, and faculty to engage with our community and to continue to build on the legacy that Dr. King left. Bellow are some highlights of activities to participate in:

  • January 8th-15th -CCS will be reimbursing student's admission cost to the Charles H. Wright Museum of African American History. 
  • Monday, January 15th Martin Luther King Jr. Day
    • 9:00-11:00 Arts and Scraps Service Project 
    • 12:00-5:00 Drop-In Service Projects in ACB Lobby and TC Lobby
    • 12:00-5:00  Detroit MLK Day Rally and March for "Jobs, Peace & Justice" Transportation will be provided for CCS community members 
    • 5:30 Theatre Performance of "The Meeting" by the Ebony Road Players on TC 11, reception to follow
  • Tuesday, January 16th National Day of Racial Healing
    • 11:30-12:30 - Lunch, an address of CCS's efforts, and the beginning of a larger conversation with students, staff and faculty in W217
