CCS Welcomes Interim Provost Bill Shields

CCS is pleased to announce the appointment of William Shields as CCS's Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, reporting to President Richard Rogers. Shields, who brings multiple dimensions and experiences to the role, has served as President of three institutions: College of Great Fall in Montana, Rockford College in Illinois, and the University of Pittsburgh at Titusville. His past interim posts include, most recently, Dean of the College of Arts and Architecture at Montana State University and before that Provost of Montana State, President of the University of Maine at Presque Isle, and President of the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford. He earned a Ph.D. in sociology from the University of Pittsburgh and has taught sociology at a number of institutions.
