American artist, Douglas Malone, has joined CCS as a faculty member in the Foundation department. As an associate professor Douglas, will participate in the instruction of first-year students introducing them to the basic techniques, principles and materials that will be used throughout their studies and careers. As a professional artist, Douglas specializes in figurative drawing and painting. His extensive background in classical drawing and anatomy enables him to craft the image of the human form with meticulous precision, subtlety, and insight. Throughout his career, Douglas has regularly exhibited his paintings and drawings in galleries throughout America, and his work is held in private and corporate collections in the United States and Europe. Douglas' work has also been recognized with numerous awards and been published in several publications including American Artist and The Artist's Magazine. Douglas served as an instructor of anatomy and drawing at the Academy of Art, San Francisco from 1998 to 2007. He also served for a year as a professor of Foundation Studies at the Savannah College of Art and Design, Savannah, GA.
