CCS Sophomore Kurtis Hoffman (’19, Product Design) won first place for his footwear design at Under Armour’s Design Future Show, the newest iteration of the Future Show Innovation Challenge. The Future Show Innovation Challenge is an invitation-only competition in which up to 20 entrepreneurs from across the globe are invited to an all-expenses-paid trip to Under Armour Global Headquarters in Baltimore. The two-day event features presentations alongside a company-wide trade show.

This year, Under Armour sponsored its first-ever show for design students, inviting six finalists from College for Creative Studies, Art Center College of Design, Otis College of Art and Design, University of Cincinnati-DAAP, and Parsons.

Participating students were welcomed to Baltimore on March 2, 2017 for a full day of activities, including a tour of headquarters, lunch and engagement with Under Armour Design Mentors and College Programs Team, and the Design Future Show Finals in two categories, Footwear and Apparel. The Design Future Show was a resounding success, attracting the attention of prominent design recruiters.

The first Future Show Innovation Challenge was held in 2011.
