The Sound Stage inside The Walter B. Ford II Building, College for Creative Studies
Song Write is a performance created specifically for The Stage inside the College’s Walter B. Ford II Building.
The performance is a confrontation between an un-expecting present and its not too-long-ago-past. It will draw on work Trondson created while at residency at Banff Arts Centre and feature the Canadian musician and composer Chris Kelly. To date, Trondson’s practice has revolved around focusing on the power of the live moment, the chances or coincidence of being in one place at one time, and experiencing a moment unlike any other.
Trondson currently lives and works in Detroit, Michigan. Her practice is based in live performance, film, and sound. Following her master’s studies at the University of Southern California she has shown and performed in Berlin, New York, Las Vegas, Santa Fe, as well as Los Angeles and her film California King was shown in conjunction with the symposium Backyard Oasis at the Palm Springs Art Museums, as part of the Getty Foundation’s Pacific Standard Time initiative. Last fall, her performance Rehearsal/Recording debuted at The MAK Center of Art and Architecture at the Schindler House in Los Angeles.
