Welcome back to campus for the 21-22 academic year. I’ve missed seeing our students and CCS educators on campus, and hope that everyone had a restful and recharging summer.

These times continue to be difficult given the ongoing pandemic and distressing world events. Many people in our campus community may be feeling anxiety, fear, financial strain, or other stresses. These times call for all of us to continue to be as kind and caring as possible. Let’s all show understanding to each other as we navigate the return to campus together.

CCS is committed to creating as safe an environment as possible on campus. All of our COVID-19 policies have been updated on the Peacock Nation website. In addition, CCS has mandated COVID-19 vaccination for all CCS educators and students and mask wearing indoors on campus regardless of vaccination status. Wearing masks indoors, monitoring our symptoms and staying home if not well, and other safe social practices will keep all of us safe.

While CCS is mandating vaccination for all CCS educators and students, there are several reasons why someone may not be vaccinated, including medical concerns or religion. A person’s vaccination status is private information that should not be disclosed or revealed by anyone. It is important that we all respect individual privacy on this topic.

I’m so proud of how the campus community came together in the 20-21 academic year. I know we will do it again this year. Thank you all for doing your part to not only keep campus safe but to support each other through these times.
