With over 20 years experience as a copywriter and creative director, John Woodward has worked for a number of Detroit ad agencies as well as a full-time freelancer.

With over 20 years experience as a copywriter and creative director, John Woodward has worked for a number of Detroit ad agencies as well as a full-time freelancer. He’s created advertising, branding and digital campaigns for Chevy, PPG Industries, National City Bank, Lincoln Motor Company, and many more.

In 2000 Woodward earned his MFA in Creative Writing from the Writers’ Workshop at the University of Iowa. While there, he taught undergraduate courses in business writing and creative writing. Additionally, he taught composition at Oakland Community College from 2010-2012 before joining CCS as Adjunct Faculty in 2014.

  • Advertising history, with an emphasis on copywriters
