Andrew Thompson is a fine artist who works primarily in sculptural installation and interactive art. His teaching experience spans from 1st year foundation studios, lectures, and seminar courses to graduate level seminars. He curates thematic group exhibitions that include fine art, crafts, and design.

Professional Experience:

Thompson is a Lecturer II at University of Michigan, Stamps School of Art & Design, where he has taught for ten years. He is a board member of Hatch Art: A Hamtramck Collective, and he has been on several exhibition committees for over a decade, most recently at Detroit Artists Market and Ann Arbor Art Center.

Significant Publications/Presentations/Exhibitions:

In 2016, Thompson was guest critic to students and a public lecturer on his work at Mt. Holyoke College in Massachusetts. In that same year he mounted a large-scale public work as part of the Ann Arbor Art Center's POP-X Festival. His custom installation art has been shown in music venues such as the Detroit Symphony Orchestra, Kerrytown Concert House in Ann Arbor, and the Movement Techno Festival in Detroit.
