Professional Experience:

Greg Verras' influences began while growing up in his father's workshop; a hacker space before they had a name. Electronics, instrument making tools, furniture parts, and audio equipment at his disposal led to a life of tinkering and artistic endeavors. Upon completing a degree in manufacturing and feeling underwhelmed with the job prospects he discovered industrial design and decided to return to academics. He found a voice and purpose in local design and manufacturing and began producing furniture and skateboards. On a whim he accepted a job at Fossil designing watches for Diesel. There he gained professional experience and worked with an international design team creating a successful family of timepieces. The dots would soon connect to bring together his love for design, experience in watch design, and desire to live and work in Detroit. He is happy to be working with and learning from his students at CCS.
