Three CCS Alumni Honored with 2016 Kresge Artist Fellowships, Gilda Awards
Kresge Arts in Detroit (KAID) has awarded live arts, film and music fellowships, as well as two Gilda Awards, to artists working in metropolitan Detroit. Now in its ninth year, the Kresge Artist Fellowships annually recognize local emerging and established artists whose diverse creative practices reflect vision and excellence.
CCS alumni designed two of six Batmobiles in the history of film
There are only six Batmobiles in the history of film. We can thank these CCS alumni for two of them. Hollywood Concept Artist and CCS Chair of Entertainment Arts Tim Flattery (’87, Transportation Design) designed the Batmobile for the 1995 film Batman Forever and Ed Natividad (’91 Illustration/Transportation Design) worked as the conceptual vehicle designer for the Batmobile in the recently released Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice ('16).

Car Design News has named The College for Creative Studies a top 10 school in the world for transportation design. The prestigious honor comes as a result of the outstanding achievement of CCS students in Car Design Awards (CDA) competitions taking place from 2011 through 2015.

While planning her own wedding, CCS alumna Angela Ficorelli, saw the need for a more personalized, independent, artist-driven wedding expo. Out of this need she created Rock Sugar Event, a place for engaged couples to find local vendors and artists peddling their one-of-a-kind, custom wedding items, from letterpress invitations to centerpieces.
