Harty’s work investigates the connection between craft and technology through sculpture, installation, video, and performance. She is heavily informed by her training as a glass blower, and draws on her personal history as a craftsperson to explore how kinetic knowledge can be tracked, embodied, and performed.

Professional Experience

Harty has exhibited in galleries and museums across the country including the Chrysler Museum of Art, the Toledo Museum of Art, and the Corning Museum of Glass. Her writing has been published in Glass Quarterly, GASnews, and various museum catalogs.
