Professional Experience

Mary Chezick offers liberal arts students a unique perspective into the minds of their audiences.

While living in Alabama, she gained experience working with people across several areas of mental health, including supervision of a team of therapists, in-patient treatment of adolescents with emotional problems that required long-term hospitalization, female abuse victims, substance abuse groups, assertiveness training groups and youth effectiveness training groups. Additionally, she provided individual therapy using a variety of therapeutic techniques at least weekly for every patient.

Prior to moving to Michigan, Mrs. Chezick lived in Europe for three years before accepting a position as a foster care supervisor. Her role involved supervising social workers who were working with neglected and abused children. She is proud of her career working with children and adolescents and now shares her experiences with students at CCS.
