Professional Experience

Mary Prouty brings to CCS her many years of experience as an Adult English as a Second Language instructor, administrator and presenter of ESL teaching techniques and strategies. She created and teaches Composition for Non-Native Speakers of English, a writing and English language studies course for CCS’s international students.

In her continuing effort to stay involved in English as Second Language on the state level, Prouty is an ESL Consultant, and a member of the Michigan ESL Professional Advisory Committee (MIESLPAC). She is currently part of an ESL team reviewing and assigning benchmarks and applications to the College and Career Readiness Standards (CCRS) – English as a Second Language Curriculum framework for Adults.

Mary Prouty is in the process of completing a Master’s Degree in TESOL at Madonna University.
