Typography, Multidisciplinary Design, Traditional Printmaking Methods
Michelle’s focus is the application of graphic design to physical space. Also called Environmental Graphics or Placemaking, it’s the practice of communicating information about a space through visuals that compliment the architecture of a building or room. An interest in the physicality of design and the role of typography in signage, inspired the shift from traditional print to three-dimensional work.
Clients/Projects include JPRA Architects, von Staden Architects, Ideation Orange. Lansing Community College Center for Manufacturing Excellence, Brainspring Learning Centers, Dorsey College and Delta College.
Michelle is adjunct faculty at CCS in Communication Design and a teaching artist with the Community Arts Partnerships in Detroit. AIGA Detroit and SEGD – The Society for Experiential Graphic Design.
