Since graduating from the College for Creative Studies (BFA Fine Arts ’02), Taurus has exhibited in dozens of galleries around Metro Detroit, and as far away as Chicago, New York City, London and Germany. He continues to be very active in the Detroit art scene by curating exhibits and jurying local competitions, as well as painting murals and other public works of art.

Professional Experience

In 2008 Taurus began a series of Detroit urban landscape paintings, a series that totaled over 300 paintings. He was once listed as “Best Local Artist” in Real Detroit Weekly and one of the “Best Local Artists to Collect” in HOUR Detroit Magazine. Over time his love of figurative and landscape art has developed into powerful statements that address racism, gun violence and the wealth gap in America.

Since 2014 Taurus has worked full-time as an automotive clay sculptor, and he will begin teaching Figure Drawing in the Illustration Department in September 2019.
