Prestigious “In Good Company” Exhibit Features Work of CCS Crafts Senior

For its third year, the furniture design exhibition In Good Company opened in Brooklyn, showcasing the work of 14 emerging designers. This year’s jurors included the exhibition’s founder Fernando Mastrangelo and Milan-based designer Rossana Orlandi, who scoured hundreds of applications whittling it down to just 14 new works, including that of CCS Crafts Art Furniture senior Alanis McNeir.

McNeir’s chosen piece, “Maturation Coffee Table,” fit the “Collectible Design” focus of this year’s exhibition – an idea that furniture can go beyond its function and transcend into works of high art.
“Furniture is no longer solely, or even primarily, a medium of function. It’s starting to become more and more a medium for artistic expression for the sake of artistic expression,” said Mastrangelo

The exhibition runs through October 11, 2019.
