Jharna Kakati is a Master of Fine Arts (MFA) in Interaction Design from College for Creative Studies (CCS). She is currently pursuing her career as a User Experience and User Interaction (UX/UI) designer and seeking fulltime opportunities to gain experience in this area. During her studies at CCS, she has completed several projects where she has demonstrated a broad range of user research and interface/experience design capabilities to create a solution for user interaction. Throughout her coursework, it has been her effort to bring out the passion and enthusiasm through her work, be it “Art of Connection” for meaningful face-to-face interaction in public, or “CarNet” interface design for connected cars, or “Digital Sarathi” toolkit design for digital literacy.

Creating a design in limited space always fascinated her and that’s what drew her to advertising initially. Her 8 years of professional experience at major advertising agencies include roles as Creative Supervisor at Dentsu Impact, Sr. Art Director at Publicis Capital, Jr. Art Director at JWT, and Designer at Grey Worldwide.

From an advertising career, she learned that time management and working with tight deadlines are important in any industry, but the foundation and biggest challenges of design lie in communication. She truly believes that the interaction between design and communication is a fluid process. Her time at CCS has enabled her to create a highly interactive experience and tools for users to achieve their objectives in the best way possible and she seeks to continue her experience in a positive manner.
