I’m a Michigan artist, born and raised in Ann Arbor. I’ve been drawing for as long as I can remember, and in the beginning that was mostly horses. Horses are a big part of my life and still making an appearance in my work one way or another. More recently, my inspiration has come from my fascination with the many stories found in history and mythology. I’ve been introduced to cut paper as a means to illustrate those stories in ways that are new and very exciting for me. The layering of paper brings with it new challenges. I’m no longer just creating on a flat surface; I’m able to experiment with the dimensionality of it to bring a new voice to my work.
