Motion Design

Graduates of the CCS program in Motion Design will work at the nexus of motion graphics, illustration and animation to bring images and digital content to life.

The Program

Students in the Motion Design program learn to create sophisticated moving image narratives for a range of applications, from apps to ads to short films and more. The curriculum focuses on research and critical practice, bringing together visual communication, illustration, animation, film and the fine arts. CCS’s relationships  provide unparalleled connections to industry and the community.

Degrees Offered

The 30-credit MA (initial degree) is the first year of the 60-credit MFA (terminal degree), with classes focusing on professional and technical skills and knowledge. During the second year, students embark on an independently defined critical enquiry.

Motion Design students develop creative content with advanced technical skills including animation, audio-visual communication and digital post-production.

Versatile capabilities in digital communication and multimedia software allow graduates to create content and narrative for businesses, nonprofits, and the public sector, grounded in critical thinking and thought leadership.
