Professional Experience

He has held positions as exhibit designer at H.B. Stubbs Co. and senior industrial designer at Clark Equipment Company. He co-founded A&R Industrial Design in 1988 as a consultant firm specializing in heavily engineered products and ergonomics. Clients include: Clark Equipment GmbH, Stryker Medical, Deutz-Fahr, SAME, Hella, Tremec, TACOM, RL Corp., Barker Mfg., Attwood Corp., to name a few. Roney has also received numerous design awards including “Tractor of the Year” award in Europe, IDEA Gold/IDSA, Design Distinction and Innovation / ID Magazine annual design review, EIMA Prize/Italy, High Prize for Product Design / State of Northrhein-Westphalia, Germany, Designers Choice / ID Magazine annual design review, if (die Gut Industrieform) / Hannover, Germany, Awards for Ergonomics and Innovation / Material Flow Magazine, Germany and Product Safety/National Insurance Association. He has lectured both in the U.S. and China on boat and yacht design. He holds two patents and has assigned numerous patents for his designs as part of his client work. He is a member of IDSA, Human Factors and Ergonomics Society, and SME.
